Evaluations, Impact studies

Apart from facilitating internal project evaluations, Remme Consult has also been involved in a number of programme reviews and impact assessments of various development programmes, funded by the EU, the Dutch Government, Danida, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and other donor organisations.

Some examples of programme reviews are:

  • Mid-term Review (Team leader) of EC EDF-funded Improved Forest Management for Sustainable Livelihoods Programme in Malawi (2008).
  • Analysis of the Nature and Poverty Programme, implemented by a consortium of WWF NL, IUCN NL and Friends of the Earth NL, funded by the Dutch government (2007). The review focused on the achievements and lessons learned, particularly with regard to the relationship between poverty and natural resource management.
  • Study on the Impact of Food Aid on the Grain Market in Ethiopia (Team leader), commissioned by the EC Delegation (2006). The study included (i) a large household survey of people living in food insecure areas and in nearby food secure areas and (ii) a grain trader survey of big and medium traders and cooperatives.
  • Review of project framework of South Eastern Dry Areas Programme Zimbabwe, funded by IFAD (2001).
  • Mid term Review of Forestry sector project NWFP Pakistan (2x). Contracted by the Dutch embassy (1999-2000).
  • Review of Environmental Sector Support of the Dutch embassy Pakistan (1999).
  • Impact study on forestry extension in Zimbabwe in collaboration with the Institute of Environmental Studies (1997/98).
