Policy Analysis and Formulation

Because of our experience with complex institutional programmes and our technical knowledge of programme formulation, we have been involved in the design of new programmes and in the analysis of development policies.

Some examples are:

  • Technical review of community based forest management on both customary land and forest reserves in Malawi in preparation for new funding opportunities provided under climate change financing (2015)
  • Appraisal of Plans for Future Work of Norwegian-Supported “Conservation Farming Unit Programmes” in Zambia, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, and Uganda (2014).
  • Appraisal and formulation of Decentralised Forestry related Natural Resources Management Programme in Zambia (2013)
  • Needs assessment and proposal for rural development information for the Inter-Ministerial Commission on Rural Development in Timor Leste (2012).
  • Strategizing the second phase of the Improved Forest Management for Sustainable Livelihoods Programme in Malawi to be funded through the 10th EDF - facilitating a EU task force (2008).
  • Analysis of EU Food Aid policies in Ethiopia (2006).
  • Updating of Master Plan study of the Abbay Water Basin - formulation of M&E/MIS strategy (2006).
